The older bitmagic.games address redirects to bitmagic.ai. Its creation entry now leads to a game development kit for coding agents. An older description of a wholly browser-only prompt editor should not be assumed to describe this workflow.
What the GDK documents
Bitmagic describes a 3D engine provided as project source, generated resources, local development, and publishing to its own platform. The documentation requires Node.js 20 or newer and a Pro subscription. Free browsing of games is separate from development access.
Who should investigate it
It is relevant to creators comfortable with a local project and an AI coding agent, especially when inspecting and revising code matters. It is a different starting point from an app that hides all development files.
Files and services need separate checks
The GDK also describes hosted multiplayer and leaderboard services. Having source does not establish that those services move with the project. Before choosing it, inspect the generated files, service dependencies, subscription terms, and independent-hosting path.
What stays local, and what runs on Bitmagic
| Component | Documented arrangement | Question before committing |
|---|---|---|
| Engine | Editable TypeScript source in the repository | Can you build the project from a clean checkout? |
| Multiplayer | Bitmagic relay | What happens if that relay is unavailable? |
| Scores and saves | Hosted service | Can player data be exported or replaced? |
| Distribution | Platform URL; an iOS-to-TestFlight workflow is also described | Which accounts, signing steps, and platform terms apply? |
These are documentation-based distinctions, not demonstrated portability. For a first technical assessment, choose a single-player scene, record its external requests, and test a fresh build before adding networked features. Keep the coding-agent subscription, Bitmagic plan, and store account requirements separate when estimating cost.
We have not installed the GDK, purchased Pro, generated resources, or published a game. Documented capabilities are not export-test results.
