Game creation

Jabali AI and Studio.

Prompt-led game creation on the web and in a desktop editor, with Phaser and Godot workflows. Studio access and standalone export have conflicting official descriptions.

Two creation paths

Jabali combines a web game maker with Jabali Studio, a desktop environment. Its web FAQ describes text prompts, genre selection, subsequent edits and shared game links. This makes it relevant to creators exploring a playable idea rather than only generating illustrations or design notes.

The Studio guide describes template starts and Phaser or Godot creation paths. Phaser is presented for lightweight 2D projects, while Godot covers 2D and 3D projects. Bali, its AI producer, helps refine requests; the documented process includes previewing, revising and publishing to Jabali’s cloud.

Access conditions need confirmation

As checked on October 10, 2026, the Studio page presents downloads for Windows and Mac. However, the pricing FAQ still describes a Studio waitlist and priority access for Premium and Ultra subscribers. We cannot establish which access policy applies to a new account from these pages alone.

The pricing page describes Sparks consumed by AI generation and editing, monthly allowances and unused Sparks expiring at renewal. The general FAQ still uses early-access free language. A free entry point should therefore not be read as unlimited generation or guaranteed Studio access. Confirm the allowance in the account before subscribing.

Source access is not verified standalone export

Official source What it says What a creator still needs
Studio product page Access to source and assets, with distribution flexibility A concrete downloadable output and applicable terms
Studio FAQ Standalone file export is not yet available Confirmation for the installed version and chosen engine
First-game guide Publish a playable game to Jabali’s cloud A separate path if independent hosting is required

These statements may concern different versions or outputs, but their dates do not resolve the mismatch. We have not downloaded a project or established that a complete editable project can leave the service. For an export-first project, ask for a representative package and follow the independent-host acceptance procedure before expanding the game.

Editing and recovery

The version history guide separates the latest saved version from the published version and describes viewing changes and restoring earlier snapshots. This is a useful documented control for iterative work, not evidence that every AI change preserves the intended mechanics.

A proposed first assessment is a small collection game: generate one loop, save a version, change one rule and check movement, score and restart again. Record the engine, account eligibility, Sparks consumed and published version. We have not performed this assessment.

Best fit and remaining unknowns

Jabali is worth investigating for prompt-led prototypes and creators who want to move into a desktop editing workflow. Standalone distribution remains an unresolved selection criterion. Installer behavior, account access, generation quality, actual costs, mobile playability and exported dependencies have not been independently tested.
